Sigma is an alliance of Poole, Dorset and Hampshire primary, secondary, alternative provision and special schools with the shared aim of working collaboratively to improve outcomes for all students within our schools and beyond.

Portsmouth Schools Staff Wellbeing

New Staff Wellbeing Sessions

Aims of the course
- To provide a range of practical actions that we can all take to look after our own emotional wellbeing at this extraordinary time.
- The practical actions will be evidence-based from Psychology and Neuroscience.
- To be both reassuring and to learn new actions to try out for our own wellbeing.
- To be signposted to further information if staff would like to know more about any of the specific approaches and interventions.

Evidence-based interventions to work effectively with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Needs
Led by Ian Hunkin.
Staff fromBCP schools(must be on the BCP Schools List) can access this PACE course for FREEdue to funding provided by BCP Outreach Service (SEMH BOOST) in association with Ambitions Academies Trust.
Staff from Portsmouth Schools (must be on the Portsmouth Schools List) can access this PACE course for FREE due to funding from Portsmouth City Council's Inclusion Outreach Service.
Our series of 6 sessions gives the opportunity to learn practical, evidence-based strategies in order to be able to work successfully with children and young people with SEMH needs.

NEW Pastoral Network
We understand the value of meeting with colleagues to share idea and keep up to date with developments in your area of work, therefore we are pleased to announce a NEW network that will give the opportunity for anyone who works within Pastoral Support to come together online.
This will be an online termly opportunity to meet with the following aims:
·Continuing Professional Development for staff involved in providing and/or leading pastoral support in school
·Sharing practical, evidence-based approaches and interventions between staff from a range of schools including training from Sigma Teaching School and discussions between schools on relevant topics
·Updates on the latest research and resource publications.
