Governance Improvement Network 2020/2021
Networks are stronger when more people are involved and we believe this whilst providing informative networks to local Governors and Trustees. However to ensure we continue this we are changing our approach to the Chairs' Network following a self-improving philosophy.
One of the core aims of a self-improving school system, is to move towards a culture where schools work collaboratively to identify and create innovative solutions to common issues for mutual benefits.
We believe this can be applied to groups of governing bodies, enabling them to work together to identify common challenges and best practices, develop resources based around these findings and use them to the benefit of other governing bodies.
Sigma TSA is looking to create a Governor Improvement Network to meet on a termly basis using an online platform.
Examples of collaborative projects could include:
- Greater collaboration between governing bodies and external stakeholders
- Adopting common policies and practices across schools
- Achieving increased Governor engagement and recruitment of new Governors
This is the first of 3 sessions, the dates for the other two are:

all sessions start at 5.30pm until 7pm.
